Wow - we had this workshop for a birthday activity and we were so happy with how it went. We learned a lot about the tiles and way to create them. You can opt to re-create existing, traditional tiles you can find in Lisbon (and get the addresses where to find the originals on buildings) or to create some own designs. Now we are waiting for the tiles to be put in the kiln to finish. The colours in the picture are still the muted ones before fusing the paint pigments with the glass, so the colours will pop afterwards.

What an absolutely lovely and memorable experience and a highlight of our trip to Lisbon! The setting was casual and friendly and our instructor was very down to earth and helpful. It’s fantastic that they offer shipping of your tiles at a very reasonable price (45€ for 3 people to Canada) as you need to allow 3 days for pick-up which we didn’t have. I highly recommend this as must-do activity in Lisbon and we were so happy to have chosen this particular workshop over the others that we researched. 10/10!

Had a wonderful time during the 2h workshop with Miguel. We learned about different tile painting techniques, had time to think through our designs and he patiently helped us learn the proper way to paint. A must during your next trip to Lisbon!

Had a 3.5 hour workshop with Miguel. It was a thorough introduction to Portuguese tile painting. The designs were straightforward to follow and beautiful, all from the streets of Lisbon. They fired our tiles within a day and were great with communication and follow up. Would happily recommend to anyone interested in learning more about Lisbon tiles and the artform.

Miguel, our instructor, is a very knowledgeable and kind person. He will introduce you to the history of tiles, mosaics and pigments. Then it's the hands-on moment, which is really interesting as well. From traditional Portuguese motifs to freehand projects, you have the freedom and support needed to develop your patterns. You will barely notice when the 3 hours and a half have gone by. Can't wait for my next trip to Lisbon to be part of another session! P.S.: your tiles will be burned in a kiln and you can pick them up (or ask for them to be delivered for a small fee) after three days.
